One of my highest priorities is to always consider the environment while planning and completing work for my customers. That's why I am committed to using locally sourced, environmentally-friendly products whenever possible. As products are produced and moved around the world, their environmental footprint, and that of its producer and end-user, grows larger. My goal is to help reduce negative impacts on the planet wherever possible and to make socially conscious decisions daily.
There's a lot we can do to help reduce your home's ecological footprint. It's important to consider every system of a home when planning green projects. I like to look at everything from light bulbs and energy efficient appliances to low-flow fixtures and rainwater harvesting to heating, cooling and insulation efficiency. There are many low-cost solutions that will make your home more comfortable and environmentally friendly.
With California's current drought, it's important to reduce water use however we can. Rain water harvesting, simple greywater recycling systems along with planting drought-tolerant plants, installing drip irrigation and low-flow faucets and toilets, and repairing water leaks all go a long way to reduce a homeowners water use and water bill! One happy consequence of going green is saving green!
